Natural fertilizers are commonly made from waste products of various sources ranging from chicken feathers and manures to treated sewage sludge. Natural fertilizers have very slow release rates, requiring soil bacterial action to convert the organic matter into forms usable by plants. Nutrient release from the natural fertilizers is excessively slow when cool soil temperatures reduce bacterial activity. Higher application rates may safely be applied and the fertilizer will last over a longer period of time.

Natural fertilizer improves soil “tilth”—the condition, or health, of the soil. It is less likely to burn the lawn or leach down through the soil and into groundwater. It also provides a larger complement of minerals for plant growth.

Natural fertilizer "OMC+" is an organic mineral mixture (made by "Airik" Ltd., Kharkov, Ukraine) are made from disinfected dry chicken excrements with added organic components (turf, plant remainders) and mineral additives (ammonium nitrate, superphosphate, potassium-magnesium) in the appointed proportions.

The mixtures "OMC+" produced according to the basic recipe contain from 450 to 600 g/kg of organic matter, nitrogen general from 1.5 to 3.5, phosphate general (P2O5) from 1.0 to 3.0%, potassium metathetical (K2O) from 0.8 to 2.5%, cobalt - 9.0 mg/kg, copper - 30 mg/kg, zinc - 236 mg/kg, manganese - 225 mg/kg and meet the standard requirements of quality for the given type of natural fertilizer.
